Sorry, I’ve been taking a break just like Gossip Girl. I thought I would check in today because I have a little Blair and Chuck spoiler for ya.
After the jump…
Don’t read the full entry if you don’t want to know. Seriously!
Well, that was quite an episode!
My recap will be posted later, but for now, a few questions.
First, what do you think about Dan and Miss Carr? Did you think they were really going to go there?
I wasn’t entertained by Chuck’s lame storyline, were you? I didn’t even like him last night, and I thought I’d never say that about Chuck!
Nate, poor Nate. When will he get to do something interesting?
Rufus was annoying me, too.
Were you glad to see Dan and Serena finally break up, again?
Thoughts, anyone?
These sparkly lives are rattled more by sexual tension than by class crises. In the world of Gossip Girl, there are few signs of economic hardship. Mostly, it’s a contest between the haves and have-mores: For example, the Humphrey clan—members include Serena’s on-and-off boyfriend Dan (Penn Badgley), his sister Jenny (Taylor Momsen), and their hipster dad, Rufus (Matthew Settle)—lives in the artsy, waterfront area of Brooklyn that’s one part Williamsburg, one part DUMBO, and must find their way among families who divide their time among Park Avenue, the Hamptons, and Tuscany. After Lily’s latest husband, Bart, dies, the family learns that he “has more towers than Trump, more bucks than Bloomberg.” Thus far, the only character to suffer a serious reversal of fortune is Nate, played by Chace Crawford, who is forced to move in with the Humphreys when his father—a swindler and coke fiend—flees the country. In this New York, nothing as commonplace as bear markets can bring about financial ruin: It requires a dastardly character flaw.

Got some good, somewhat disappointing spoilers from Kristen:
A former big-time couple that some of you (though, admittedly, very few of you) love will be getting back together…and who it is certainly surprised the pants off of me! Also, Nate’s grandfather makes him an offer that’s too good to pass up, which leads to Vanessa feeling out of place, and the dynamic of that relationship shifting. Basically the whole rest of the season is relationship roulette.
So, who is getting back together?
Not Jenny and Nate…And yes, right now you Chuck and Blair fans should be weeping, ’cause this old couple reconnecting totally means that Bluck or Chair (or whatever your name of choice) will not become a real couple any time soon this season.
Who do you think is getting back together? Blair and Nate?

Sorry this is late…
Beware of spoilers if you haven’t seen “You’ve Got Yale.”
It’s the morning of Yale day, the day we get to find out who is definitely accepted to Yale. Blair is stressed and her dad comments on the fact that they heard her watching “The Gilmore Girls” all night. Blair says she deserves Yale way more than Rory did! Everyone at B’s house is sure she’s getting in; they’re all decked out with big “Y’s” on their clothes (including Dorota.) When her dad asks about Chuck, Blair says “He’s as dead to me as his father is.”
Serena is really worried that she will get in to Yale but B won’t.
Rufus and Lily are together - they’ve been sneaking around, but this morning they get caught: Rufus spent the night. Eric says they’re loud in bed and he’s now scarred for life.
With Jack running Bass Industries, Chuck has been trying to take Jack down using all kinds of devious plans (planting cocaine in his gym bag, for one.) Eventually Chuck goes to Lily for help, even though he still resents her and views her as the cause of Bart’s death. She tells him that his shenanigans (planting cocaine, etc.) won’t impress the board; she agrees to help him even though Chuck makes it clear how he feels about her. She hopes he’ll move back in.
There is a new teacher named Miss Carr who looks like a student and is from Iowa.Serena, Dan, and Blair get the news about Yale. Dan got in, Serena got in, and Blair got waitlisted. Serena, feeling bad for Blair, tells everyone that she got waitlisted just like Blair. Serena does some soul searching about whether she even wants to go to Yale.
Serena gets a call from Yale that they want to issue a press release that she will attend. She says she’ll have to call them back.
Blair knows someone from Constance got in and is on a witch hunt to find out who it is. Meanwhile, Read the rest of this entry »
