“All About My Brother” Recap

Jenny & Blair are busy spreading rumors about each other. Asher and Jenny are throwing a party at Asher’s place; B isn’t invited.

Jenny is still grounded and lies to Rufus, who is desperately trying to keep her close to home after he realized how far she’d gone out of control, stealing to try to “keep up” with her friends, etc. She lies to him, telling him she’s going to a choir event when she’s really having a party w/ Asher.

Serena hasn’t heard from Georgina in weeks, happily!

Meanwhile, G is busy making friends with Dan and Vanessa, posing as “Sarah” who is new in town. Dan and Serena are back to normal - he confides in Georgina (”Sarah”) about how things are going with Serena, and they decide to arrange a dinner so Serena and “Sarah” can meet.

Eric watches Asher with Jenny and looks upset! Eric talks to Jenny with some concerns about Asher, saying he’s concerned that Asher isn’t the right guy for her. Jenny assumes Eric is just jealous because he has a crush on her…but we know by Eric’s demeanor that’s not the reason…keep reading after the jump

Dan and Serena talk about making dinner plans to meet Sarah but can’t come up with a plan.

Dan sees Asher kissing a guy outside of school (we don’t really see the other guy).

Lily is busy with wedding preparations when Rufus comes to see her; he wants advice about Jenny, Jenny’s mom is away on an artists retreat.

Dan confronts Asher about seeing him kissing a guy, and Asher strongly denies it and says he’s going to pop Jenny’s cherry later that night - of course Dan gets mad but Jenny breaks it up. Dan tells her Asher isn’t being honest with her but Jenny just gets mad at Dan, saying he’s just jealous because Asher is everything he wishes he was.

Dan gets some advice from Blair and Serena about Jenny. He’s frustrated that she’s not listening to him, and they tell him the only things she cares about (and will listen to) are her friends and Gossip Girl.

Rufus and Lily have a thoughtful conversation about raising teenage girls, and she tells him, “You have to trust that you’ve done your job.” She says Jenny will come back to him eventually.

Dan uses Gossip Girl to spread the rumor about Asher and another guy and Jenny thinks it was Blair. Serena gets another package! B asks Dan about the Asher rumor and is very interested in the situation. She tells Dan “Asher is using your sister as a cover” and she wants to team up and get some real dirt on Asher, so Asher & Jenny will break up. Dan isn’t interested in joining forces with Blair.

Rufus and Lily talk while she tries on her wedding dress; he’s struck by the sight of her, it’s obviously tough for him. She says she thought it would be OK since they’re now “friends” and nothing more. Their connection is obviously strong.

Jenny brags to her friends about how “far she’s gone”with Asher, saying he went to third. The girls are impressed. Jenny is trying to squash the gay rumors.

B manages to swipe Asher’s cell phone and has all his text messages/e-mails forwarded to herself.

Jenny goes to Asher’s place and wants to make out. He’s disgusted, like, come on Jenny we don’t do this. He says he’s holding up his end of the bargain, J is like ‘What bargain?” Asher says he gives her status - she’s even hosting her first Upper East Side party - and says “You’re Jenny Humphrey from Brooklyn…Do you really think someone like me would date someone like you?” Jenny is crushed but at the same time seems like she already understood. They make a deal to strengthen Asher’s cover…

Gossip Girl spreads the rumor that Jenny and Asher have gone all the way.

Serena opens the new package and it looks like the beginning of a sex tape…Georgina and an unknown guy are heard talking about setting up a camera that Serena won’t know about. Later Serena is heard saying “it’s hot in here” and the guy says something like she’s what’s hot. Serena is very disturbed about the tape.

Dan and jenny talk about the Asher situation; he’s concerned about the rumor that Jenny slept with Asher. Jenny says don’t worry, it’s not true. She tells Dan that she knew all along that Asher is gay.

Georgina gets herself to dinner at Serena’s by bumping into Lily in the lobby and acting like Serena had invited her over. Blair calls Serena & needs to talk, urgently, but Serena can’t because of the “family”dinner that she had going on.

Georgina outs Eric at dinner - nobody had a clue, and Lily is upset.

Rufus finds out what’s really been going on with Jenny by reading her e-mail. Lily had told him to go ahead and do it if he felt he needed to. He uncovers her lies just before she’s about to leave for the “choir thing” and he confronts her about it, telling her not to leave. Rufus tells her if she leaves, she’ll lose his respect. But Jenny isn’t about to miss out on hosting an Upper East Side party and leaves.

Serena and Eric talk about the news; she apologizes for not being there for him. He explains that he met ’someone’ at the Ostroff treatment center after his suicide attempt, and now that ’someone’ is dating Jenny! He’s upset and feels betrayed by Asher. He decides to go to Asher’s party.

Blair crashes Asher’s party! (Go, B!) She has his cell phone with her and looks around for him so she can return it…

Meanwhile Serena and Dan are at the coffee house. Dan introduces “Sarah” to Serena, Serena is totally stunned. Georgina starts talking about being something of a filmmaker like Vanessa and has a video she wants to show. This is creepy (!!!) because she’s obviously talking about the video with Serena in it. Serena manages to talk Georgina (”Sarah”) out of showing the video to Dan and Vanessa.

Back at the party, Blair gives Asher his phone back. She has all the info on him, and she tells him if she didn’t care about the other person involved she’d have used her info against Asher. Eric is there, too, with a crowd around him, talking about Asher being gay, their relationship, etc. which Asher is totally denying. Eric is like, why would I be here telling everyone about all of this if it weren’t true? In front of everyone, Jenny lies to cover Asher, saying he’s not gay. Eric is fed up with Asher and tells Blair to “go ahead and do it” - and she sends the scoop to Gossip Girl, with proof.

Lily and Rufus are on the phone talking about what happened with Eric. Lily is disappointed in herself for her poor reaction to the news.

Jenny’s crew dumps her, saying that lying to her girlfriends about sex was inexcusable. (Dating a gay guy was an honest mistake.)

Lily apologizes to Eric for reacting so emotionally to the news that he’s gay, telling him she just wants the best for him.

Jenny goes to see Blair, saying “you win…I’m done with you, with them, all of it. I lied, stole, lost the respect of my family” etc. Blair tells Jenny she put up a good fight, for a freshman, and when Jenny leaves Blair looks a little sad.

Serena tells Dan she doesn’t like “Sarah”. Serena says just take my word for it, do not trust her. Dan is like, “you just met her, how can you say that?” But Serena doesn’t explain.

Georgina and Serena talk, and Georgina says she wants to go back to before “that night” and be friends with Serena.

Jenny comes back to Rufus.

Serena goes to Blair’s late at night. Blair sees how upset she is, Serena is in tears. S wants to talk but doesn’t want to incriminate Blair by letting her in on anything. Blair says you’re my family…what’s you is me…I love you, tell me. Serena just says…”I killed someone.” (!!!!)
