Sorry this is late…

Beware of spoilers if you haven’t seen “You’ve Got Yale.”

It’s the morning of Yale day, the day we get to find out who is definitely accepted to Yale. Blair is stressed and her dad comments on the fact that they heard her watching “The Gilmore Girls” all night. Blair says she deserves Yale way more than Rory did! Everyone at B’s house is sure she’s getting in; they’re all decked out with big “Y’s” on their clothes (including Dorota.) When her dad asks about Chuck, Blair says “He’s as dead to me as his father is.”

Serena is really worried that she will get in to Yale but B won’t.

Rufus and Lily are together - they’ve been sneaking around, but this morning they get caught: Rufus spent the night. Eric says they’re loud in bed and he’s now scarred for life.

With Jack running Bass Industries, Chuck has been trying to take Jack down using all kinds of devious plans (planting cocaine in his gym bag, for one.) Eventually Chuck goes to Lily for help, even though he still resents her and views her as the cause of Bart’s death. She tells him that his shenanigans (planting cocaine, etc.) won’t impress the board; she agrees to help him even though Chuck makes it clear how he feels about her. She hopes he’ll move back in.

There is a new teacher named Miss Carr who looks like a student and is from Iowa.Serena, Dan, and Blair get the news about Yale. Dan got in, Serena got in, and Blair got waitlisted. Serena, feeling bad for Blair, tells everyone that she got waitlisted just like Blair. Serena does some soul searching about whether she even wants to go to Yale.

Serena gets a call from Yale that they want to issue a press release that she will attend. She says she’ll have to call them back.

Blair knows someone from Constance got in and is on a witch hunt to find out who it is. Meanwhile, the new teacher has given Blair a bad grade (a B) on a paper and Blair has words with her, explaining that that’s not how things work, and how seniors get a free pass, “like pregnant ladies or 14-year-old Chinese gymnasts” but Miss Carr is like, I don’t inflate grades.

Upset about her grade, Blair tells Serena she may have lost Yale. Serena says she needs to make a call (to Yale, to tell them not to run the press release because she’s not going, so Blair can have her spot.)

Lily and Chuck are still talking about how to take down Jack. Lily says, “The bastard is untouchable. Time to play dirty.” She insists they do something that isn’t illegal. Chuck gets mad when he finds out that Lily is taking Rufus to the opera (everyone from school is going, it’s a gala event) - says she shouldn’t be parading her “mistress” around just one month after Bart’s death.

Blair declares it to be “open season Miss Iowa” but Serena is like, forget it, you got in. S tells B about how S declined, so B can go to Yale. Dan is surprised to find all this out, especially since she lied to him before when she said she was waitlisted. She tells Dan she really doesn’t want to go; she’d rather go to Brown because it’s a better fit for her.

Rufus is learning about opera, Eric is explaining some things to him so he’ll be prepared, but it turns out that Eric read the schedule wrong and Rufus learned all about the wrong opera.

Blair’s minions are trying to help her decide whether to get back at Miss Carr…and Blairdecides to go for it. She calls Miss Carr and invites her to dinner and the opera and even though Miss Carr at first says it’s not a good idea, Blair of course convinces her.

At the opera…

Dan bumps into Nate and Vanessa. Vanessa had surprised Nate with tickets to the opera that she bought (he has much better seats but decides not to tell her because she was feeling so proud of herself.) Dan lets it slip that they should be sitting in a box, but V’s seats are nose-bleed so Nate has to tell her about the other seats. Eventually they end up taking the box seats.

Dan and Serena discuss their future at different colleges and the awkwardness of their parents being together.

Headmistress calls Blair to tell her that Miss Carr met with her about her grade, and that as long as the rest of Blair’s work is up to her usual standard, Blair will still receive an A for the class. Blair feels bad about how she set up Miss Carr and has to leave suddenly to fix something. Miss Carr is really mad when B goes to rescue her, she had been waiting at a closed restaurant for an hour for Blair. Blair apologizes profusely and Miss Carr eventually says she accepts B’s apology. After Blair leaves, Miss Carr calls Headmistress Queller…

Lily realizes that she has a way to get Jack out of the picture for good. She and Chuck complete some adoption paperwork that was started before Bart died (Bart’s personal attorney was at the opera with the papers, naturally); Lily is now Chuck’s guardian, which means that Jack isn’t anymore. Since he isn’t Chuck’s guardian, he is no longer running Bass Industries.

A bit later, Lily is in the powder room. Jack is furious about what just happened and follows her into the powder room. Rufus is looking for her. Chuck realizes something is up when he sees a line outside the powder room because the door is locked. Jack is screaming at Lily, and then he attacks her physically like he’s going to rape her. Chuck comes in and rescues her, followed by Rufus.

Back at the Lily’s, Chuck walks in and sees Rufus and Lily together on the sofa, Rufus is making sure she’s ok. Rufus passes Chuck as he’s leaving and the two shake hands, as if Chuck finally accepts Rufus. Chuck talks to Lily. She wants him to have everything (the company) on his 18th birthday; she just wants C to be her family. He tells her that he does want to move back in, and that he knows Bart’s death wasn’t her fault.

Headmistress Queller calls Blair in for a meeting. Blair thinks it’s for tea. Miss Carr told Headmistress Queller what Blair did to her, and now Blair has to serve detention. Yale has been notified and her acceptance is on hold. If Blair serves detention then Yale may still be possible.

Blair leaves Queller’s office and tells Dorota she’s going to war: “I need to wait for my moment, but then I’m going Black Ops. Off the radar. No accountability. This war I’m going to win.”

Miss Carr shows up at the coffeehouse and chats with Dan…
